Colorful Easter Egg Luminary

Whether you wish to decorate your entryway, kitchen, living room or dining room for the holiday, this wheel-thrown Easter Luminary is sure to compliment your home decor and bring some spring into the air.

PROCESS:

This luminary was thrown on the wheel using speckled clay.  Once dry enough, it was trimmed, then painted using underglaze, then pierced, carved and slip was added for the dots.  After it was bone dry, it was bisque fired, then glazed over in a clear glaze, and fired again to this finished product.  The plate to hold the candle was also thrown on the wheel, trimmed, fired, glazed and then fired again for the final result.
