"New Beginnings" Pierced Tulip Vase

This vase was thrown on the wheel, then trimmed and carefully pierced and smoothed. The leaves were painted with underglaze and the pattern was carved. The clay around the leaves was carved down to make the flower stand out. It was then glazed clear and fired to this finished product.
