This butter keeper has two parts; both parts were thrown on the potters wheel. Then, once they were leather-hard, both were trimmed and the green underglaze was painted on. The leaf design was then carefully carved into the clay and once it was dry, it was fired. Then a clear glaze was applied and fired again to this finished product.
To use: Smoosh the butter into the top part, and add water to the bottom part. Butter stay fresh on your counter for 30 days (water will need to be changed every few days). No more hard butter from the fridge!
